Hey yall! All is well here in Okie Land. We are now home for good. Praise the Lord! We feel feel blessed to be back and completely done with Matt's training. Caleb is eating some finger foods, but mostly baby food. He's now ten months and has four teeth. Three of which, he cut simultaneously! That was fun... He will be one year in December. I can't believe it! He's a healthy chunk too, tipping the scales at a little over 30 pounds and 30 inches. We are loving every ounce of him.

This is Caleb's little friend, Kelsee. She's such a ham! They got to play together recently and had a great time! Caleb has a picture of her that he carries around with him (and occasionally chews on).... BTW, mommies have to brag, Caleb taught Kelsee how to sit up on their last visit. It was awesome!

Here's our little angel in his cool newsboy cap. I looked forever before I found one for him. Old Navy had them. Just love it, that is when I can get him to keep it on. If I hold his hands down for about 30 seconds, he'll forget he has it on and not mess with it. Wow, that's about my memory span lately too!

The buffalo readily greeted us and welcomed us home. It was a great homecoming. What an incredibly beautiful and mighty beast. Love it!

Caleb is now on the run. He's doing what we like to call the bear crawl. Actually, he only does this instead of crawling on tile or hard wood. I think its purpose is to keep his knees off the floor. Maybe he's trying to tell me something about the cleanliness of our floors. Hmm........

Here's the handsome pair I get to hang out with every day! What a team. Caleb can now stand on his own for extended perids of time without help. Its so amazing to see him grow! God's been so wonderful. I am blessed to raise a child of God.

Little chubs is our latest name for Caleb. But, he's still pretty proportional, I think. Of course, I have the mommy glasses on, so I could be totally blinded by love, I suppose. But there's more to love, I say. Matt and I are doing well. Matt loves his job and I love mine (raising Caleb)! Ya know it's so funny. I look down and see my two dogs, a year or two ago, this blog would have totally been about them. It's incredible how much things change when a sweet little angel comes to live in your home. But, we still try to give the doggies some attention from time to time. Till next time, love God and trust in His plan for your life. There is one and it is much better than anything we could ever come up with. We love you and are grateful for your prayers and faithful friendship.

It's been quite a while. Well, Caleb is nearing 9 months and wearing 3T clothes. We saw a bud yesterday where a tooth is coming in on the bottom! He is so much fun. I can't get enough of him. We are now one month away from being done with Matt's field training!!!! Praise the Lord. We are grateful and feel so blessed to have this job and be able to settle in one place. We look forward to sleeping in our own bed for more than a few days at a time. Here are some recent pictures. Enjoy! Love you all, Matt & Chy (and Caleb)

3 Weeks to Go!

All of these pics are Caleb at 4 months old. Things are going well. Just 3 weeks to go! Matt's last few weeks will be pretty intense. I won't see him for the next two days. After this, we're headed back home to OK. We're planning a visit to see my family in May and may have my niece come back with us to visit for a few weeks in June. That'll be great because Matt will be out of the state for training most of June and she'll make great company.

We've been going to a church here and Caleb has been staying in the nursery. He loves it. A middle aged couple runs it. They are just wonderful. We're so blessed to be able to be together as a family while Matt completes his training here in GA.We can't wait to get back and get settled into a church in OK. Excited about getting involved somewhere for the long haul, rather than for just 6 months or a year as has been the case in the past.

I can't say enough how great God has been in our lives. God has changed my heart so much since we found out we were expecting. My concerns about motherhood has all disolved away and have been replaced with a child-like giddiness caring for Caleb and given me hope for the future. Everything has been so smooth and come so natural. We're so grateful for our friends and family and look forward to many special times together, especially BBQ's. I love BBQs!!!!! Miss you all. Hope to see ya soon. God watch over you and yours. Chy & Matt (and Caleb)

Halfway Done

Were a bit past the halfway mark now at Matt's school in Georgia. We've really enjoyed the area. But, we're growing more and more anxious to get back home. Matt has some more training to attend this summer. But, we'll be at the casa most of the time, praise God! Matt's mom and aunt got to come visit us here. We enjoyed having them both. The weather's been cold for the area this winter. But, it looks like the 50 degree days are finally over!!! Now, it's consistently 60-70's with lots of sun!
Caleb is now a week shy of four months. He weighs a whopping 20 pounds! He's a "healthy" baby, at least that's what the locals say. He gets lots of attention. He is sooooooo handsome and becoming much more fun than the gas pains days. Here are some shots of us since we've been here. God bless you.

The First Month Pictures

Caleb Mark between 3-5 weeks old

Greetings all, Here are a few pictures we took from 3-5 weeks old. Being a mother has changed my life! Now, at 3 months, I can look back to the first few months and laugh. But, OMG, what a challenge it's been. I used to think I was really tired and would catch up on my sleep someday. That is no longer a reasonable thought. It's okay though. I think my body has adjusted to the sleep deprivation!!! I don't even notice it anymore. I don't even need naps anymore. Well, wish it could be longer. But, Caleb is like a ticking time bomb. He's been asleep for quite some time and due up any minute.
God has been so good to us. May God bless you all. Thanks for your prayers.
Chy

Caleb Mark
Born December 2nd
8 lbs 3 oz, 19.5 inches

Well, the day came and went. Everything went well, as planned (like we can really plan these things). Matt was an awesome coach and Caleb came out screaming like a champ. My water broke at home in bed. Amazingly, I made it to he bathroom before the water hit the floor!!! No, really. Matt came home from work and took me to the hospital. They induced labor some and I got an epidural after a few hours of contractions. The delivery was nearly painless because of the epidural. However, a few hours after delivery, I the nurses tried to get me out of bed to use the bathroom and I passed out several times. They kept making me smell some amonia or something horid. I thought I was just falling asleep over and over. Wow! That was not fun :-( Matt said I turned white as a sheet. Come to find out, I had lost a lot of blood during delivery, nearly enough to have a blood transfusion. So, they kept me in the labor and delivery room over night to monitor me. Matt stayed in the room with me and helped with Caleb. Thank to everyone who prayed for this miracle. Matt and I are so grateful and give God the glory for this perfect little gift.
